I have finished the book and I can see where the thought could be that Kenner is actually Micheal Crichon's input. The last few chapters the characters expose alot of their views of what they feel should happen about the environment. Then Micheal has a few pages where he talks about his research and he new found beliefs and they are similar to those of the character Kenner in the book. But Gordon Morton that turns out to be truely alive shares his beliefs. The part where the actor Ted gets eaten alive is grosse. You could have warned me!! Watch out Robin!!

This book is a real interesting one. The concepts will make you question if anything you read in the news papers or see on the news is real or being fabricated to seem as though it is real. The book has many references on each page making it feel very legitimate. It will be interesting to follow up on the references and see how much difference has been created in the making of this book or is it a reality?
State of Fear
One of the things that concern me is how people are creating these machines to damage the earth and seem to always be under no raidars except for Kenner and Sanjong. These machines are sometimes very big and all are very powerful. You would think that someone would notice what is going on and report it. Unless the government realy already knows and is in support of the so called projects happening. Many lives seem to be in danger at the cost of just trying to create fear. As this story unfolds it seems to be a real reasonable situation that very well could be happening everywhere. It reminds me like the old professor stated of fads and trends. Just because soso said does not always make it right.
State of fear
In the book Is Kenner character fleshed out to where he's an actual character (i.e. physical, mutual description, nearly life like) or is he more like the voice of Micheal Crichton? What is the signifinance of you response?
In the book he is given physical characteristics: horned glasses, middle aged, and balding hair.
I am not sure if he represents the voice of Micheal Crichton because I do not know enough about Micheal to say one way or the other. Unless at the end of the book Micheal gives a impression on his feelings, I have around 50 more pages to read. The book gives Kenner a since of importance and being a very intillegent. He always has an answer for the so called fears or concerns people are campaigning about. He is not convinced that global warming is a issue that warrants so much concern. He feel that it is just used as a tool to make people scared and give lots of money. He seems to be connected just about everywhere. He also knows what the opponents are up to, like bombs in the snow, creating lightening storms. Now they are flying to where they are creating a hurricane.

The more research I do on the subject of global warming and the more I listen to both sides of the issue, the more I am not quite sure if global warming is as serious as Al Gore portrays or if it is played off as a sorce of drama. Many of the facts stated for both sides make a good case to believe, such as, the major storms that seem to be worse than ever recorded and the data stating that the Earth reached a peak high in 1997 and has been declining ever since. The subject almost seems to be one of personal opinion. Facts support either side are dramatically revealing towards the person or article you read. My stand is to educate the people and yes present options to help reverse or slow down the effects of the global warming. Looking at the charts of where the Earth's temperatures are and have been does not make it seem as a real urgent matter, but living through and seeing the destruction of the storms, earth quakes in divers places, and severe droughts lean me to believe that something is occuring. These acts of nature are begging for our attention. Do we listen and try to help? Or pretend that all is well? Educating ourselves and the children who are our future will determine who is right or wrong.

Warming too Much!
The movie "Inconvenient Truth" raises my awareness on what global warming actually is. The charts and graphs of all the different studies really got my attention. So many events from the recent Hurricanes "Ike" and "Rita" were mentioned and was told to have been tied into this current concern of global warming. The heavy rain that comes and seems to last more than usual is told it is an unoticed effect caused from global warming. Al Gore asks the question, "How do we react when we hear warnings?" That is very interesting to me. It seems to ring very odd that many people choose to 'wait and see" or 'ride things out' and life threatening issues will be at hand. Is our life not worth the chance just to listen to people who devote their lives to study storms and the environment? Stories like the one of the Polar Bear pictures that hit the media and was misused make people not want to trust anything they hear. I believe we should look at the circumstances surrounding what is being told. Does the evidence really have merit? Can you see what is being described? Is it not being proven daily in the terrible storms and nature issues? Japan has set records in 2004 for having 10 typhoons that year. The last 14 years have been the hottest recorded in over 200 cities. Circumstances are speaking for themselves we just need to listen.

It is my opinion that more education should be put forth on global warming. I myself had heard about global warming but was never quite sure what it realy was. Now that I have done some investigating I am very concerned. I believe that we as a whole nation need to work together to turn this serious situation around. This effects not only us now but our children's future and their children's futures. Let's start teaching the children now to respect our Earth and accomadate in the making a difference in the future. Some may argue that children are to young or that they need not to worry with such things.. I propose that the children are our future and it is our responsiblity to teach them what to watch out for and how to make a difference. Relying on just the present time eventually will cost us more than we can ever imagine. So let us teach all that will listen about what global warming is, and teach them how to make a difference. We can not afford to sit by and do nothing. The Earth did not get into this shape over night nor will we fix it over night. Put one step in front of the other and save our world.

Global Warming is something that everyone needs to pay attention too. It needs to be implemented more seriously in our schools. The children are our future and it will take our current efforts and the efforts of those to come to help turn this situation around. I myself did not realize the extint of the damage that has occured. I have heard of Global Warming but was not quite sure exactly what it intaled. Now that I have been introduced to the seriousness of the problem I have a strong opinion that we as a whole should make sure everyone knows. The impact and recourse we as a nation put forth literally poses an healthy or unhealthy future. Let's educate the children from grade school up to know the real impact global warming is having on the Earth. Some may argue that to worry them so y
